With the opening of the new Eternity Isle area in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s “A Rift in Time” expansion, Mickey Mouse has remembered something from before The Forgetting: a game that the Villagers used to love playing! The Quest “A Game of Coins” features Mickey teaching the player how to play Scramblecoin and challenging them to an introductory game.

Get Your First Scramblecoin Figurines
After visiting Eternity Isle for the first time, talk to Mickey Mouse to learn that he has remembered how to play the board game Scramblecoin. The game consists of moving pieces shaped like different characters around a board to collect more coins than your opponent. There are dozens of Scramblecoin figurines available to collect in Disney Dreamlight Valley, each shaped like a classic Disney or Pixar character. To get you started, Mickey will give you a set of “Mickey & Friends” figurines, which includes:

- Goofy – 3 Movement in any direction, enters board from any corner. Can jump directly to a specific tile, ignoring obstacles and all tiles in between.
- Mickey Mouse – 3 Movement, horizontal/vertical only, enters board from any border square
- Minnie Mouse – 3 Movement, diagonal only, enters board from any border square
- Scrooge McDuck – 2 Movement in any direction, enters board from any corner. Gains one extra coin at the end of each turn.
Play A Game of Scramblecoin With Mickey
Talk to Mickey Mouse and select “Do you want to play Scramblecoin?” Because this is your first match, it will be played on an introductory board, and both you and Mickey will be using the same five figurines. You are also able to rematch Mickey as many times as you like.
The rules of Scramblecoin are as follows:
- Each game consists of five turns. You move first, and your opponent moves second.
- You must select five figurines to use during the game. (As this is your first match, you must use the five Mickey Mouse gave you.)
- At the beginning of your turn, you must place one figurine on any valid entry point.
- You can have a maximum of three figurines on the board. Once you have three, you may either replace a figurine in play with another one or skip placing a figure entirely.
- Once you have placed your figure, you can move all of your figurines in play. During the training match with Mickey, all available moves are highlighted.
- When your piece passes through or lands on a square with a coin, you collect the coin immediately.
- Silver coins are worth one point. Gold coins are worth three points. More coins are added to the board at the beginning of each turn.
Tips For Playing Scramblecoin Against Mickey Mouse

While Mickey will play Scramblecoin against you as many times as you like, you cannot complete “A Game of Coins” unless you win at least one game against him.
Some tips and tricks for defeating Mickey Mouse in a game of Scramblecoin include:
- Deploy Scrooge McDuck early – the board is small, so his limited movement is not much of a handicap, and the extra coin per turn he grants you is crucial.
- Mickey tends to prioritize collecting gold coins, so clear out as many as possible on your turn to force him to focus on the lower-value silver coins.
- Your pieces who can move in any direction – Donald, Goofy, and Scrooge – are extremely important during the last few turns, when the board is generally filled with large amounts of coins.

Additionally, if you are still struggling after several games, earning three Ranking Points (doable by losing three times) will give you another Scramblecoin Piece to work with: Flynn Rider from Tangled, who can move one space in any direction, enter the board anywhere, and spawn one silver coin on the board per turn.
After defeating Mickey Mouse, simply talk to him one more time to finish up “A Game of Coins.” Now, you are able to play Scramblecoin against many different characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Challenge all the Villagers you can to earn lots and lots of different Scramblecoin Pieces to play with!
