In the Ogre Oustin’ minigame in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s The Teal Mask DLC, you’re pitted against the clock and a horde of angry Pokémon as you race to collect Berries for rewards. There are three modes, each progressively more difficult. Here are some Ogre Oustin’ tips and tricks to help you beat it in The Teal Mask.
Best Strategy for Beating Ogre Oustin’ in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC
There are three modes in Ogre Oustin’ in The Teal Mask: Easy, Normal, and Hard. You can play them solo or with three other players in a team of four, either locally or online. The more you progress, the harder it gets, with several different Pokémon rushing to steal your Berries. This can quickly become overwhelming.
Don’t press Y to return to the Berry Tables unless you’re out of Berries because it will scrap all of the Berries you’re currently holding.
I was able to complete the last stage of Ogre Oustin’s Hard mode with my team and win a Shiny Munchlax by using a few specific methods. Here’s what I recommend doing to secure victory:
- It is possible to complete Easy solo, but you will probably struggle in the final stage of Normal if you’re on your own. Hard mode definitely requires a team of four.
- When playing in a team, assign everyone a direction to stick to from the starting point. For example, I stayed left on each round and never deviated from my assigned path.
- If playing in a team, don’t assign everyone a specific color. I tried doing this and had more success by having each team member just collect what they could.
- In the later rounds, only bank your Berries once you have collected 30 Berries.
- Once you reach round five in Hard mode, have a teammate as the assigned goalie to scare away any Pokémon pests coming for your Berries after they’ve banked their first 30 Berries. You cannot leave your Berries unattended.
- While it is possible to beat Ogre Oustin’ on each map, some are harder than others. If you get one of the maps with big hills or fences, it may be worth waiting for the timer to run out and reset your run.
- Most importantly, have patience! Don’t go in expecting to win the final round on Hard difficulty on the first try. It will most likely take you and your team several attempts to finally win. Trust me, I would know…

Where to Find Ogre Oustin’ in Pokémon The Teal Mask – Exact Location
Once you’ve unlocked the festival, which is around an hour into The Teal Mask’s story, you’re able to take on the Ogre Oustin’ minigame. Ogre Oustin’ is located in the northern section of Kitakami Hall. Look for a big red stand to the right of where the Caretaker is standing.
You can find the exact location for Ogre Oustin’ in my screenshots below:
